Mother's Day is right around the corner, and for those who haven't started shopping yet, we wanted to pull together a guide guide to get the creative juices flowing. Although moms deserve the royal treatment every day of the year, Mother's Day is a chance to shower the special woman in your life with extra love and pampering. Who needs superheroes when we have moms?! In our family, we started the tradition of taking a girls trip over Mother's Day weekend. We make the short trek to Asheville, NC (post to follow on recs and suggestions!), where we eat, drink and shop until we drop. We've swapped extravagant presents for priceless memories that we'll cherish forever ... but we still love to treat mom to some surprises! Mom was right: You get more joy out of giving than receiving.
Below are some of our top picks. We love gifting picture frames complete with a special photo, and our mom loves displaying them throughout the house. Because we spend tons of time together in the kitchen, another favorite gift are cookbooks, where we write a personalized message on the inside cover. If you're enjoying a mother-daughter trip, a local cookbook is a fun souvenir (or an introduction to an upcoming trip). Or you can put together a bundle of gifts -- a beach towel, flip flops, book, beauty products to name a few -- inside an adorable tote that she'll use all summer. Who doesn't love a good cup of joe?! And these metallic mugs are subtly chic. #ButFirstCoffee Throw in her favorite coffee (or tea), and you have the most comforting gift.
Regardless of what you spend, where or how you celebrate, Mother's Day is about honoring motherhood and saying a BIG heartfelt "thank you" and "I love you, mom!" These gifts are priceless.
